Watering of Rye Overseed at District’s Dog Park

The District’s Board of Directors would like to inform its residents that District contractors have overseeded the District’s Dog Park with rye in preparation for Fall and Winter. This process requires heavier watering than usual due to Texas’ warmer temperatures in the Fall and the fact that there is currently little to no precipitation. However, the District has heard your comments about the watering schedule and the park contractors are modifying the watering schedule.

If you have any further comments, questions or concerns regarding any of the District’s recreational facilities, please do not hesitate to contact the District. You may provide such information by direct website message on the District’s website, under the “Contact” tab, https://www.trailofthelakesmud.com/contact/.

Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate – October 28, 2024

The Trail of the Lakes M.U.D. is set to host a public hearing concerning the proposed tax rate for the tax year 2024. This important meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. It will be held at 2929 Allen Parkway, Suite 3450, Houston, TX 77019.

For those unable to attend in person, options to join via dial-in at +1(312) 757-3121, Access Code: 291-268-477 or through videoconference at this link are available.

The proposed tax rate for the upcoming year is set to remain constant at $0.60000 per $100 of value, identical to last year’s rate. This proposal indicates no percentage increase or decrease in the tax rate itself.

However, due to changes in property appraisals, the average residence homestead value has risen from $252,716 last year to $268,838 this year, leading to an increase in the projected tax bill from $1,516.29 to $1,613.02, which equates to a 6.37% annual increase in taxes if the proposed rate is adopted.

For more details on this proposed rate and its implications on your property taxes, please refer to the full document available here.

State of Texas also offers access to local property tax databases where you can find comprehensive information about your taxes, including proposed rates and other relevant public hearings.

The upcoming hearing represents a crucial opportunity for property owners to voice their opinions and learn more about the future financial implications on their property taxes.
